The dancers are all very excited about getting into the theatre next week. It's always an exciting time when we prepare to go onstage and show our audience what we have been working on for the past few months. I am excited about my premiere (always butterflies in the tummy), and Cynthia Pratt confessed to me that she was too. And one of the great things about this art form is that you really don't have any idea how it is going to look when you get it up on a stage and far away from you. I always tell people that it is similar to working on a highly detailed mural. You have to pay attention to the tiniest detail, but the impact comes from seeing it from afar!

We had our "Studio Dress" in the studio on Friday. This is the first time that the dancers get to dance all the pieces in costume. Usually there are one or two disasters, and this time was no different. Matt Sparks completely ripped through a very tight pair of pants he was wearing. (We got him another pair) And some finishing touches had to be added to the nymphs in "Faun." But by and large, I was pleased and happy with the results. The show is going to be very diverse, and what's more, the dancers look great in all the pieces!
