The Creative Process, Choreography - Suggested Students: Pre-Professional Dance and Performing Arts
An educational program for performing and fine arts students that invite your students into the studio to observe the process Dance Kaleidoscope's Artistic Director, David Hochoy, uses to create his choreography. During the 1 1/2 hour class, Hochoy creates a segment of a new work while students observe and study his process. The demonstration deals with inspiration, development, obstacles, composition, interpretation and finalization of a creative work.
Graham Technique and Contemporary Dance - Suggested Students: Classical Ballet & Contemporary Dance
David Hochoy and company members share their knowledge and exemplary skills in contemporary dance and Graham technique with pre-professional dance students. Classes are 1 1/2 hours in length and include a Question & Answer Session.
Fusion Hip Hop/Modern Dance Class
A fusion of hip hop and modern dance techniques is the focus of this two-day (45-minute each day) residency. 4th – 10th grade students get on the move through this energetic and physically challenging dance class. Warm-up exercises will be taught to prepare the body for physical activity and self-expression will be encouraged while students and instructors create unique dance movements that stimulate the cardio-vascular system while supporting healthy living habits.
