2017 Summer Dance Workshops

summer danceThis summer, DK offers several opportunities for dance students who are just beginning or at intermediate or professional levels with their dance studies. All classes will be taught at the DK Studio at the Jordan College of Arts Annex, 5144 Boulevard Pl. (corner of 52nd St. & Boulevard Pl.).

Summer Dance Camps

DK Kids Summer

June 12-16, 2017

Little Dancers Camp
4-6 yr. olds, 9-11:30am  - $110
Classes in Creative Movement & Yoga. The focus will be on basic dance elements of space, rhythm and pattern. The class will culminate in a presentation on Friday, June 16 at 11am.
 
Next Step Dance Camp
6-9 yr. olds, 12-3pm, Mon - Th.; 9-11:30am, Fri.  - $120
Classes in Ballet, Jazz & Yoga. The focus will be on basic dance elements of space, rhythm and pattern. The class will culminate in a presentation on Friday, June 16 at 11am.
 

Intermediate Summer Intensive

Intermediate-level dancers, age 10-14
Mon. - Thurs., 10am - 4pm; Fri. 10am - 3pm
 
A five-day intensive program designed to familiarize intermediate level dancers to the daily routine of professional dancers, emphasizing the intense training and strenuous schedule that company members must follow. Company Rehearsal Director Liberty Harris will teach classes in Graham-based Modern Technique, Classical Ballet and DK Repertory (David Hochoy choreography) to young dancers considering dance as a career.
 

A Week in the Life of a Dancer

A Week in the Life of a Dancer is a five-day intensive program designed to familiarize pre-professional students to the daily routine of a company dancer. Emphasizing the intense training and strenuous schedule that company members must follow. Company Rehearsal Director Liberty Harris and guest teachers will lead classes in Graham Technique, Classical Ballet and advanced DK Repertory (David Hochoy choreography) to advanced-level dancers considering dance as a career.
