During the 2016-17 school year, DK dancers will take the education program called Every Day We Write a Dance to Pre-Kindergarten classes in twenty-one Indianapolis Public Schools. The program’s goal is to support teamwork, create positive self-expression, promote sequential order through storytelling, and examine patterns, exercise, space and rhythm.
Every Day We Write a Dance
DK dancers take the young children through a warm-up or exercise period, teach basic dance positions and simple ballet terms. Then the children work together to create a community dance and to perform in front of fellow students. This 45-minute program is in partnership with Arts for Learning, the Sheila Fortune Foundation, and the Glick Fund, a CICF Fund. 
DK needs to raise $1700 in individual donations to help support this program – expenses include class fees to Arts for Learning and education materials. DK thanks the Arts Council of Indianapolis for including our program during the for Arts in Education Week of Giving, September 11-17, 2016.
