VOLUME 2: ARRESTING MOMENTUM

FEBRUARY 6-8, 2026
TOBIAS THEATER AT NEWFIELDS

Featuring Train, a company-premiere by guest choreographer Robert Battle, former Artistic Director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and current Resident Choreographer of the Paul Taylor Dance Company.

Train is a three-part abstract ritual set to a percussive live recording. The ritual reflects the dancers’ lives on stage. The beat and rhythm of the procession connect the dancers, while the pulse acts as the heartbeat, flowing from one dancer to another. Train showcases the dancers as warriors, highlighting their constant rising and falling.

ARRESTING MOMENTUM will also feature a world premiere by Christel DeHaan Artistic Director Joshua Blake Carter and a second world premiere by the 2025/26 Jaffee and Hall Emerging Choreographer Christa Smutek.

“I find Smutek’s works to be physically explosive, visceral and energetic. Her multi-use of canons and patterns evoke a strong structure and form that propels her dancers into showcasing a compelling, human experience for the audience.” – Cherri Jaffee – former Dance Kaleidoscope Artistic Director

“Watching Crista’s work is quite a fascinating and visually stunning experience. From her powerful and brilliant use of imagery to her compelling and driving music choice, she moves her dancers seamlessly through creative patterns with such a physical collaboration it projects an energy her audience can feel from beginning to end”. – Ginger Hall, former Dance Kaleidoscope Co-Artistic Director

The Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and Dance Kaleidoscope present a thrilling collaboration that combines bold music and electrifying dance.

Then, step into the bustling streets of 1920s France with Gershwin’s An American in Paris, brought to life through the vibrant choreography of David Hochoy.

AMERICAN SOUND also features the second movement of Glass Pieces by Philip Glass, a hypnotic and meditative work that evokes ritual and reverence, with choreography by Sean Aaron Carmon.

Duet ticket packages without Ticketmaster fees are on sale through the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra.

VOLUME 4: INFINITY ENGINE

JUNE 26-28, 2026
TOBIAS THEATER AT NEWFIELDS
The finale to the 2025/26 Season, INFINITY ENGINE, will feature a world premiere by Joshua Blake Carter, featuring the music of Jordan Munson performed live, and the company premiere of Carter’s Infinity Engine.

Jordan Munson is a composer, performer, and multimedia artist. His work explores memory and our relationship to technology. Drawing from backgrounds in formal percussion performance training, improvisation, pop, and sound design, his compositions juxtapose subtle landscapes of richly layered textures with driving melodic arrivals. Munson utilizes technology to interpret natural sounds and vice versa, focusing on the transmission losses that occur from this constant re-synthesis.

Tickets start at $35. Discounts available for students and military/veterans.

volume 1: LAUNCH

SEPTEMBER 12-14, 2025
SCHROTT CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Featuring Cloudline, a company premiere by acclaimed guest choreographer Robyn Mineko Williams.

Cloudline is a stunning, dreamlike work that combines exquisite movement with 30-foot-wide silk that floats, twists, and transforms across the stage. The dancers don’t just move to the music — they move with the silk, creating a shifting, ethereal landscape that feels like watching poetry in motion. A true spectacle, Cloudline will leave you enchanted and inspired, and we dare say you’ve never seen anything like it.

LAUNCH will also feature Quorum, a seductive, pulsating world premiere by Broadway and Alvin Ailey alum Sean Aaron Carmon.
