Evolve your artistic voice this summer with Dance Kaleidoscope’s new week-long intensive. Work with Artistic Director Joshua Blake Carter, Dance Kaleidoscope’s Artistic Team, and members of the Company in a creative and collaborative environment geared towards artistic development for professional and pre-professional dancers.
Dancers will take technique classes in ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary to support Company repertory, partnering, and improvisation. Attendees will also have special sessions that include pilates, yoga, and injury prevention. Featured repertory will be from our ‘23/’24 season by Artistic Director Joshua Blake Carter, Artistic Director Emeritus David Hochoy, Associate Artistic Director Stuart Lewis, Janice Rosario, and Manuel Valdes.
Classes are held at our beautiful, state-of-the-art studios located inside of the Circle City Industrial Complex just north of the Bottleworks District in Indianapolis. During your stay, check out all of Indy’s unique neighborhoods, award-winning restaurants, local shops, and more!
  • Early Bird $525 before May 1st

HOUSING: Dance Kaleidoscope does not provide housing for out-of-town attendees. While there are many options for hotels, we recommend utilizing Airbnb, Vrbo, or similar rental websites.

Good Things To Know

  • When do classes start?  Summer classes run from July 8, 2024 to August 13, 2024.
  • We have a “drop off/pick up”policy. This means that parents/caregivers/siblings do not wait in the building during class. This allows us to create a pre-professional atmosphere that allows your student to focus on their independence and growth as a dancer. You will note we keep our doors locked and monitored for overall safety.  We welcome parents/caregivers/siblings in the building for special observation weeks several times throughout the year.
  • If you are new to Dance Kaleidoscope, we invite you to attend an open house, arrange a tour at your convenience or during your first class, come in for a quick tour and meet staff.

School Policies

  • Our current studio policy is that students are dropped off at the main entrance and picked up at the east end door. Parents and families are  invited in during scheduled observation weeks and end of semester showcases.
  • All students must be potty trained and able to dress themselves. Students should arrive dressed and ready to go before being dropped off at the studio.
  • We reserve the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment (3 student minimum).
  • No food, snacks, or drinks besides water in the building! Please ensure water bottles are tightly sealed, and no straws please.
  • If classes need to be canceled for any reason (weather, Covid, etc.) you will be notified via email and we will post on our social media pages.
  • If your child is sick, please keep them home so we can all stay healthy. We are happy to help you schedule a makeup class at the same or a lower level.

Dress Code

  • Everyone’s hair (boys and girls) must be pulled back off the face and neck for all classes. Please no toys, jewelry or accessories.

  • Do not wear dance shoes outdoors, this will damage them and will damage our dance floors.

  • Please mark all dance wear, shoes and personal items with your child’s name.

  • Cell phones must be turned off or on silent in their bags if a dancer must bring it to the studio.
