Kenoth Shane Patton

Kenoth Shane Patton

Kenoth Shane Patton danced with the Oklahoma University Modern Repertory Dance Theatre from 1991 through 1997, where he studied with Ko Yukihiro, Denise Vale, George White, Jr., Denise Jefferson and Maxine Sherman. He graduated with a BFA in dance performance from OU in 1997. He has studied with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre as well as the Martha Graham Company. In the summer of 1998, Shane performed and taught in Singapore with Dance Ensemble of Singapore and performed the lead role in Temptations of the Moon with the Martha Graham Ensemble. Shane choreographed "Great Spirit" while in college as his senior thesis and in honor of his Native American heritage. He performed it for the ground-breaking ceremony of the Natural History Museum on the campus of Oklahoma University. He has since performed this work in DK's '02 production "Land of the Free" and as part of the Daedalus Project at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Recently he received a Creative Renewal Grant from the Arts Council of Indianapolis in recognition of his ten years in the arts community in Indianapolis. Shane also has choreographed "Earth Song" which combines live drumming while dancing. This is his 14th consecutive season with DK.

Liberty Harris

Liberty Harris

Liberty Harris began her training in Indianapolis with Linda Reese at the Dance Magic Performing Arts Studio. She attended Interlochen Arts Academy on a dance scholarship for four years. While studying at Butler University, she was asked to join Dance Kaleidoscope for the 1997 production of Carmina Burana. Liberty then went on to dance with the Charleston Ballet Theater of South Carolina for two years.  A teacher and choreographer at numerous local dance studios,  Libby won a 2009 Martha Graham Award and received a top choreography award for one of her pieces at a national competition.  This is her 13th season with Dance Kaleidoscope.

George Salinas

George Salinas

George Salinas attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas, where he was named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts finalist for his Mexican "Folklorico" dancing. George received his formal dance training from Denise Vale and Austin Hartel at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance Pedagogy. While at the university, he was a guest dancer with the SD Prism Dance Theatre in Seattle, Washington, and a scholarship student with the American Dance Festival from 2001 through 2003. George has worked with renowned artists and choreographers: Tatiana Baganova, Kevin Brown, Chuck Davis, Luis Montero, Earl Mosely, Dennis Marshall, and Donald McKayle. He also has danced with Ballet Dallas, Oklahoma Festival Ballet, Mexico Lindo Dance Company, and the Modern Repertory Dance Theatre. This is his 9th season with DK.

Jillian Godwin

Jull Godwin

Jillian Godwin is in her seventh season with Dance Kaleidoscope as a full company member. She began her dance training in Indianapolis at Dance Magic Performing Arts Center and graduated from Broad Ripple High School, Center for the Performing and Visual Arts. While in high school, she competed in the Prelude Awards and was a finalist in the dance category in 2001 and 2003. Jillian danced as an apprentice for DK for one season before she was promoted to dancer.  She has also trained at Chautauqua Institution School of Dance in Chautauqua, New York, and American Ballet Theatre's Summer Intensive in Detroit.  Recently, Jillian was accepted to River North Chicago Company's Summer Intensive, where she trained with Sara Bibik, Sherry Zunker and Laura Wade.  She was one of only 33 dancers chosen nationally to attend the 10-day workshop. This is Jill's 9th season with DK.

Mariel Greenlee

Mariel GreenleeMariel Greenlee, originally from Vestal, NY, Mariel received her BA from Point Park University and studied in New York City at The Martha Graham Center for Dance, Dance Space (DNA), The Paul Taylor School and the David Parsons Workshop. She has also worked with Robert Battle, Margo Sappington, Doug Bentz, Beth Corning, Jana Hicks and others. Mariel received the Indiviual Artist grant from the IAC and she was a 2010 creative renewal fellow with the Indiana Arts Council. Mariel also teaches ballet and modern dance locally, and has choreographed works for IRT and The Phoenix Theatre. She thanks her friends and family for their love and support, and the staff of Apex Therapy for their great care. This is Mariel's 8th season with DK.

Melanie Schrieber

Melanie Schreiber

Melanie Schreiber received her early training in her hometown of Marietta, Ohio, and continued at Walnut Hill Performing Arts High School. In 2004, she graduated from SUNY Purchase, receiving honorable mention and her BFA in Dance Performance. She has also studied in NYC under scholarship at the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio. She has worked with Jacqulyn Buglisi, Larry Clark, Richard Cook, Kazuko Hirabayashi, Rosanna Seravalli, Robert Swinston, Stephanie Tooman, Megan Williams, and Kevin Wynn. This is Melanie's 7th season with DK.

Timothy June

Timothy June

Timothy June is originally from Enfield, CT. His dance training started at New England Dance Conservatory. Timothy continued studies at Miami City Ballet, Boston Ballet, the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg, Russia, and at Butler University where he received his BFA in Dance Performance. He has danced for Ballet Arkansas, Indianapolis Opera, and American Cabaret Theatre, as well as other guest artist appearances. He has also had the privilege of performing works by choreographers such as Thaddues Davis, James Kudelka, Susan McGuire, and George Balanchine to which he received coaching from Violette Verdy. He is currently working on a 450-hour Pilates Certification Program. This is Timothy's 4th season with DK.

Zach Young

Zach youngZach Young trained at Columbia Performing Arts Centre in Columbia, Missouri where he studied under Karen Grundy, Lisa Geger, Sean France, and Jen Lee. He participated in summer intensives and workshops with Mark Morris, L.J. Ballard, Gary Hubler, and Dante Adela. He has worked with contemporary choreographers Benoit Swan Pouffer, Jamar Roberts, and Angel Fraser-Logan and as a guest artist with the Cuban National Ballet. Zach is also trained in Tae Kwon Do and holds a first-degree black belt. Previously, he danced for the Cedar Lake Youth Ensemble, Cedar Lake II and the Missouri Contemporary Ballet. This is his 4th season with DK.

Brandon Comer

Brandon ComerBrandon Comer began his dance training at The Dance Refinery in Indianapolis and graduated from Center Grove High School in Greenwood, IN, where he was very active in the musical and theatre department. He competed in ESPN's National Hip Hop Competition, performed at local theaters, and was a part of The Young Tanzsommer Arts Festival which included a tour of Austria, Germany and Italy. Brandon is thankful for all the opportunities DK has given him and would like to thank David and the rest of the company for their guidance and support. This is Brandon's 2nd season with DK.

Jamie Ripsky

Jamie RipskyJamie Ripsky has trained with Illinois Ballet Theater, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Austin, Butler University, and the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance. She really looks up to the other DK dancers, and studies them closely. Jamie thanks her parents for their relentless support.  She thanks David for teaching her the secret of life.  And she thanks Shane. This is Jamie's first season with DK as a full company member.

Aleksa Lukasiewicz

Aleksa LukasiewiczAleksa Lukasiewicz originally from Novi, Michigan began her serious dance training at Geiger Classical Ballet Academy. She continued her studies at Butler University where she graduated in 2011 with honors and a BFA in Dance Performance. Aleksa's training also includes summer intensives such as Hubbard Street and a two month study abroad trip to Lithuania. She would like to thank her family for their love and support, and she would also like to thank David for the wonderful opportunity he has given her. This is Aleksa's first season as an apprentice with DK.

Justin Sears

Justin Sears

Justin Sears, originally from Evansville, IN, began dancing at Northern Kentucky University while majoring in Musical Theater. During his training in theater he began ballet and partnering classes with Anna Reznik and Alexei Kremnev, former principals of the Cincinnati Ballet, now associate directors of The Joffrey Ballet. He has studied with Jane Green, also a former principal of Cincinnati Ballet, and was awarded full scholarship to the Cincinnati Ballet School Summer Intensive in 2001. Later Justin went on to study with Jeanette Neill, and Jimmy Vieira of Jeanette Neill Studio in Boston, MA. Credits include; Ritchie in A Chorus Line, Fred in Smokey Joe’s Café, and Victor in Cabaret. He was a Giordano Dance Center Scholarship recipient in 2005, and a member of Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago II 2006-2007. 

He guested with Inaside Dance Chicago, and Fisher Dance Center. He has had the privilege of performing Vignettes, choreographed by Tracy Marion of MarioCo. While in Chicago, Justin choreographed Des Plaines Park District’s Footlighters Theatre’s High School Musical, the first staged production in its region, under the direction of Jack Lampert. He has taught Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip-Hop master classes in Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois. He is also proud to have worked with Rutina Wesley, star of MTV’s How She Move. His most recent projects include choreographing for University of Southern Indiana dance team’s 2008 competition dance (hip-hop, pom, jazz), and teaching master classes at the D’alto Performing Arts School and Shannon’s School of Dance located in Evansville, IN. Justin, currently dances with Thodos Dance Chicago, under the direction of Melissa Thodos. This is Justin's first season as an apprentice.
