Dance Kaleidoscope, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra under the direction of James Lowe, and Clowes Hall present Gutstav Holst's famous orchestral suite performed with live music by the ISO; plus Earth (from Dance Kaleidoscope's 2005 The Four Elements) set to original music by Butler University composer in residence, Frank Felice.

David Hochoy brings three dances from DK's final season at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's "The Green Show" back to Indiana: Come Sweet Love set to the lyrical lute music of John Dowland (whose music recently was covered by Sting on his latest album), Weill World – a German "kabaret" style piece showcasing the music of Kurt Weill, composer of The Threepenny Opera; and the Celtic celebration of William Butler Yeats' poetry – Such Stuff as Dreams are Made On.

Vive la France' with Wien by former Martha Graham dancer and artistic director of the Pascal Rioult Dance Theatre, Pascal Rioult, Au Moulin Rouge: La Goulue, the songs of Edith Piaf set the stage for the tale of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and the bohemian lifestyle of Paris in the late 1800's. Tangled Web a premiere by choreographer Cynthia Pratt set to the music to the music of French avant-garde composer Yann Tiersen. Plus the World Premiere of David Hochoy's Afternoon of a Faun set to Debussy's dream-like fantasy.

Fathers and Sons

Dance Kaleidoscope (DK) presents "Fathers & Sons," sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company, May 15-18, 2008, at the Indiana Repertory Theatre.

The program will feature the World Premiere of "I Never Danced for My Father," choreographed by DK Artistic Director David Hochoy. This autobiographical work is based on Hochoy's own relationship with his father and interviews with the fathers of each of DK's male dancers. Video narrations from these interviews will frame the piece and it is set to music by IUPUI professor and composer Scott Deal.

In addition, guest artists Nicholas A. Owens and Gregory Manning II, Kenyetta Dance Company, present their duet "Children of Lights" set to the music of Patrick O'Hearn. The work expresses the concept that as "God extends his hand to help us, we must remember to help one another," says Owens.

Kenoth Shane Patton will be featured in the reprise of "Seasons," Hochoy's classic two-act work which uses the cycles of Nature as an allegory for a Man's life. "Seasons" features a wide range of music from Debussy, Piazzola and Arvo Part to The Beatles.
