THE MOST FITTING GRAND FINALE

David Hochoy’s “Scheherazade” is inspired by “A Thousand and One Nights” and embodies the magic of storytelling and the imagination as stories shift from the abstract to narrative.

The stunning costumes and lighting make the full cast of dancers come alive as Scheherazade, a princess, a prince on horseback, a witch and her minions.  The rigorous and pulsing grande finale showcases the stamina and pinpoint coordination of dancers always at their peak. This is one of those Dance Kaleidoscopes’ performances that make you leap to your feet!

This work premiered in Indianapolis in 1992, and it’s fitting that this is the last work of the 2022-23 Legacy Season.

Approximate Run Time: 2 hours including an intermission.
